Seller Subscription Question...PLEASE HELP
hello,
i posed a question here yesterday to which i did not receive an answer to, perhaps based on my level of ignorance, but i am hoping that someone, anyone, can help me with this today.
part of my ignorance was due to not having a full understanding how ebay fees worked for years and years. you could ask, how could someone with over 10k feedback NOT understand? prior to about two years ago, all i ever listed was auctions, so i was fairly inactive on here and did not sell that much. on a whim, i then tried something called BIN. it was easier to list. there were no additional fees i was aware of at the time, and i could list more, a lot more! i never really read the fine print as to how BIN listings really worked. the key component i was NOT aware of is that it does cost to relist the original listing after 30 days.
eventually, my "business" grew, so instead of having 50 listings, i had 100, then 500, then 1k, 5k, and now over 10k. it was fun again. however, during this time, i had a basic subscription. then about a year or so ago, i started to notice that my available funds started going down inexplicably, but i just thought it was ebay collecting fees. i have lost 100s, if not 1000s of dollars this way, and yesterday, i finally think i found out the reason why.
with a basic subscription you are allowed 1k fixed price insertions, but i had over 10k cards listed. again, not know this is 100% completely MY FAULT for not reading the basics. so if i understand the system a little more correctly, this is not sustainable. 10k cards will ultimately expire each month and have to be relisted, and with only 1k allowed, close to 9k worth of items will be charged the .25 insertion fee monthly. DO I HAVE THAT INFORMATION SOMEWHAT CORRECT?
so after all of this, my ACTUAL QUESTION IS, is the premium level (with 10k free relistings), which i switched to yesterday, sustainable for the number of items i have listed? the only thing i am still confused over is the 50k fixed price listings categories, which i currently list in. what does that mean exactly?
please help me finally understand this and thank you for your time.

To the first part, yes, anything over your 1,000 listing allotment will be assessed a listing fee.
To the second part, 10k listings would seem to match your inventory level. This does not, however, seem to allow for additional inventory to be added without paying those additional insertion fees (for going over 10k).
In regards to the additional 50k listings, this will allow the listing of additional items at potentially no cost, so your problem of going over 10k and being charged insertion fees goes away… BUT… look at this carefully, as eBay’s “free additional listings†(the 50k additional they are giving you) are only “free†in select categories.
So, make sure that you are listing in a category where those 50k listings are “free,†otherwise those insertion fees apply.
Hope this helps.
