Seller stole my money and ebay allowed it
I am not new to ebay. I had a different account opened in 1997 and bought and sold thousands of items. I know how it works. I opened this current account in 2009 for just buying occasional items for me. I just had a terrible experience as a buyer and ebay is an accomplice. I purchased an open box electronic item that the seller put batteries in and showed it was on. The box was old an not sealed and the item had scratches. When I received it I left all packaging on counter put in batteries and it said no reception. I drove into city and still no reception. I got home took pics, sent return request and packed back up exactly the same. This was a $95 item. The seller pocketed $30 by giving me a partial refund. I cannot believe it. This was not a sealed unused item and he says he can no longer list as new unused. IT WAS NOT UNUSED TO BEGIN WITH. if ebay comes back with response of me not getting full refund I will shut down all accounts and never give ebay another dime. Too many other places to buy from in 2026. This is shameful for ebay and the seller.

So let me understand this:
-You filed an official return via the item in your Purchase history using the reason Does not match pictures or description. eBay issued you a pre-paid shipping label.
-Before shipping the item back to the Seller they refunded about 2/3rds of the original transaction amount.

So what happened when you appealed the decision?
