seller status lowered due to First Class Large Envelope shipping
Summary: suky57 experienced a drop in their seller rating from top-rated to above standard after opting to use USPS First Class Large Envelope service for shipments on eBay. Although this shipping option is more affordable, it lacks tracking and label purchasing capabilities through eBay, leading to issues affecting their seller rating. suky57 is concerned about being penalized for choosing a more cost-effective shipping method for low-cost items.
I started selling items that could be shipped using USPS First Class Large Envelope service which is a shipping option on eBay, however it doesn't provide tracking and you can't buy shipping labels through eBay.
Once I had a number of these sales my Seller rating dropped from top rated to above standard.
Since eBay doesn't supply a way to track USPS First Class Large Envelope postage why am I penalized for providing my customers with a more affordable shipping option for low cost items

To be top rated you must provide tracking on at least 95% of your sales.
Just like the requirement to sell at least 100 items in 12 months, this is a firm requirement. eBay does not look at it as a penalty, although I’m sure it feels that way.
Some sellers open a second ID to sell the items that can be sent without tracking. Others manage the number of untracked items they list each month to keep them below 5% of their sales. All you can do is find the best way to meet the requirement, or accept that you won’t be top rated.
