Seller Shipping Overcharge - how to handle
A typographical error resulted in shipping on a sale being calculated on "21 Pounds 8 Ounces" instead of "1 Pound 8 Ounces".
How do I refund the shipping difference that was paid?
Since eBay charges 'Final Value Fees' on sale price AND shipping, how do I ensure that I'm not overcharged for final value fee?
Thanks for the help!
John

Mentor2 years agoGo to
Seller hub > Orders > Paid & shipped
Locate the order, click the down-arrow, select Send refund, select a reason, select the amount to be refunded, submit. ebay will send a partial credit on the FVF that was charged.

OP2 years agoThank you both for the FAST responses. I've not had this happen before, so was not sure how to handle it. Two similar responses, so I'll mark the first as 'Best Answer'.
Cheers!

In your list of sold orders, select send refund next to that order. Enter the amount, select the reason and click refund buyer. Shipping adjustment is one of the standard reasons you for a refund.
eBay will automatically refund any applicable sales tax and the final value fees on the amount you refund.
