If you purchase your shipping labels through eBay, you can choose to use your funds from sales to pay for them.
Reserve fees are a totally different animal - always paid up front, I suspect you have found they are not a good investment. Instead of using a reserve, just start your auctions at the lowest price you will be happy to accept.
Payments for new sellers are held usually at least 21 days, so you should be getting close to a payout. You can check your payment account to see when the payments will be released. https://www.ebay.com/sh/fin
I believe I have figured out the issue. When using "calculated shipping" it has been inputting 5 lbs for every item and that is why I have come out over $600 in shipping fees. Ebay should fix this issue and/or walk sellers through the first few sales. out of $1000 earning I made $400.

The buyer is charged shipping as laid out in your listing.
The seller uses that money to purchase the label.
Buyers can’t buy their own label, so they pay you and you buy their label.

You should be entering the weight and dimensions for shipping every time you create a listing. Never use the option to let eBay estimate it for you.
