Seller sent wrong item, I didn't file dispute, Sent right items I ordered voluntary, Wants system Return process.
I ordered 2 USB Ethernet Adapters with free shipping, Immediately after the order, Seller changed shipping cost on listing to approx $10, they mailed me a (stinky)set of Solo Beats 4 headphones instead. I suspect they(seller) wanted me to open an ebay dispute and get refund and me mail stinky headphones back, I'd get my money back and he'd escape free shipping mistake on item at price I'd ordered it. So I reported to seller what they sent me, I said zero about stink, Said I could sell them for $50-$60 on ebay, but I'd happily send back if he sent a prepaid label if he send me what I actually ordered, they dragged feet few days and gave me tracking for the ethernet adaptors, I did finally get them, Success, He wanted those valuable (stinky)Beats back. I could tell by label on beats poly bag, it had stickers from return merchandiser, So I don't know if he knew what they sent or not, he claimed shipper mistake. anyhow, I will send them back, but he demands me to open a return, but far as system sees what i ordered he delivered, so can't do a return or else I'd have to send Adapters back. He will not send me a 3rd party shipping label and post in chat.
I never opened a dispute nor return, I did try to reach ebay agent in chat but it is impossible. "Under Federal Trade Commission (FTC) rules, you have the legal right to keep unordered merchandise as a free gift, you do not have to pay for it, and you are not required to return it".
I got my adapters i ordered, I paid for adapters. I can't do ebay return or it would require me to mail back wrong item than on listing he could then dispute, I want to send back, But not without a 3rd party prepaid label relieving me from all future costs..
So what would you do?
