Seller sent my item to wrong person
What information does seller have access to after shipping? I paid for my item a week ago and the USPS shipping label was created immediately but there’s no further tracking. Seller contacted me this morning that my package was delivered to someone else he was shipping to (he said the same code was somehow used for both packages). The wrong recipient is being cooperative. I told the seller that he should NOT share my information with the wrong recipient (having recipient send my item directly to me was one of the options he gave me), and that my item needs to go from the wrong recipient back to the seller and then to me. Seller says I will need to give him my shipping information again because he’s having a hard time getting it from eBay. Is that accurate? He’s not a brand new seller (53 sales) but presumably hasn’t dealt with this error before. Thank you for any guidance you can provide.

The seller has the information. It's in the Order Details for the transaction in his Orders list.
You are correct that the seller should NOT have the package sent directly to you from the wrong buyer (for both privacy reasons and the fact that he is responsible for safely packaging the correct item and having proof that he sent it to you). The package needs to come back to him first and then he needs to reship to item to you.

OP9 months agoThank you @inceptions . I got an email from eBay about an hour ago saying my package is now with its carrier, under the original tracking number. Tracking shows that the label was created in one ZIP code a week ago, and then today was printed at a post office at a ZIP code over 200 miles away from the original location, and that the USPS is now in possession of the package with expected delivery to me next Monday. The only thing that I can think of that happened here is that the 2nd ZIP code is where the wrong recipient is, the seller provided the wrong recipient with the code for shipping my package, and the wrong recipient provided that code to the post office to print the label and send it on its way. If so, would that provide the wrong recipient with my personal info? At this point I’m going to wait for delivery before following up with eBay if a complaint is warranted. Thank you again for your assistance.

I haven't shipped with a QR code, so I don't know the the other buyer would see your information or not. Though there is little chance anything nefarious would happen, your information should NOT be shared by the seller.
If it turns out that the seller did have the other buyer ship your item (especially after you instructed the seller not to do it), you can report the seller here:
