Seller rudeness
Hi,
I recently found an item that had a best offer option. I have been an ebay member for 20 years with good standing. I offered a reasonable bid, but never received a reply or counter offer.
The seller still had the item listed a few days later so I submitted another reasonable offer. Again, it was never acknowledged or responded to. I then send the seller a direct and polite message stating that I was really interested in the item and if it was possible to reply to my offer.
No reply, no response. The listing is still up, I tried to submit an offer and even try to buy it, but was met with a red message box basically stating that the seller was not accepting offers from me!
How is this possible and why? I have never encountered this in all my transactions on ebay. Is there any way I can report this as I feel this is a direct action from the seller without any profound reason to block me. If one does not want to entertain offers, then why make it an option!
Kind Regards,

OP2 years agoThank you for the reply. I did not mean reporting them as a bad seller, but merely as a demerit in status as in, not cordial or responsive. But either way, I understand and appreciate your reply.

Mentor2 years agoeBay cannot force a specific Seller to sell to a specific Buyer. It is poor customer service not to respond to your offers or your message. The Seller may have felt your offers were not reasonable and chose to block you instead. A Seller is encouraged, but not required, to respond to a Buyer.
The Seller did not violate any eBay policies so unfortunately, there is nothing to report them for.
