Seller ripped me off, can’t seem to get any help.
I hope someone can give us a push in the right direction here. We bought our son a PC for his birthday. Paid $1000 for it and never heard another word.
After a few days waiting for shipping info to come up, I reached out to the seller to see when he would be shipping - No response.
Reached out again asking for an update - no response.
Requested a refund - seller waited until the last day it was supposed to be here and of course, the seller denied the refund request. Still no response to any of my inquiries regarding shipping.
The last day the item had to arrive was yesterday and I have been trying to get some help from ebay’s “Money-back guarantee†today but the only option I had was to again request a refund from the seller who is surely just going to deny it again in three days, meanwhile I’m out $1000 and obviously this seller isn’t planning to give me my item or my money back.
I’ve been on eBay for years and have made lots of purchases. I’ve never had one go as bad as this has.

OP1 year agoInterestingly I also left negative feedback for the seller and it seems to have disappeared…?

·1 year agoThere appear to be several things going on here.
1) This is a brand new seller. They may not realize that as a new seller (and also selling an item that cost $1000) their funds will be held for 30 days, and they think they should wait until payment 100% clears to them before shipping. Problem is, it won’t clear without tracking showing delivery.
2) Did you open an actual case through eBay? I’m skeptical of you having done that, since you shouldn’t be able to open a case until the last estimated date of delivery passes.
I’m going to give you two sets of answers, because they depend on what you’ve done so far.
IF you did open an actual case through eBay for a refund, and it’s been closed (no matter the reason), you’ve burned out your options through eBay. You get ONE chance at opening a case through them. If it’s closed, either by a seller or mistakenly by the buyer, that’s it with eBay. You get one shot, and when it’s closed, no matter the reason, you can’t reopen it or another case.
IF you didn’t open an actual eBay case, since your now 1 day past delivery (has to be a full, entire day), you should be able to open an item not received case. Do not close it until you have either your money or the item.
IF you opened an actual case through eBay, and it’s now closed, you can’t reopen it, so you’ll need to contact your bank/credit card company for a chargeback.
You do have options, but they all have deadlines. Don’t let anyone, especially the seller, convince you to wait about anything. Once a time frame goes by, that’s it.

OP1 year agoHi GloryBells, Thanks for the response. I’ve not opened a case with eBay as I can’t seem to figure out how to do that. I keep reading support articles telling me there should be an option to do that but when I try, it doesn’t seem to exist.
I bought the item on the 19th and never saw any activity after that. The item shows “paid†in the delivery info section, but there is no tracking/delivery info. The item was supposed to have arrived no later than the 29th. I requested a refund again, but as mentioned I am sure the seller isn’t going to do that. Should I just Call my bank and dispute the charge?

OP1 year agoSorry, just re-read the comment you made about disputing the charge after trying to open a case. I guess I just need to open a case but I don’t know how to do that. I’m not sure if it needs exactly 24 hours before it will give me that option or what but I’ll wait it out another day.
