Seller requested cancellation
I recently purchased an item and have paid. The seller reached out with concerns about giving his SSN to eBay for tax purposes and that eBay cancelled the order. This does not appear to be the case and the seller has now reached out saying I would need to request cancellation. What’s the best course of action here? Cancel or wait until the delivery period and report as not received?

Mentor8 months agoIf the seller is not going to ship, s/he should file the cancellation for Out of Stock, but that records a defect on the seller's account. That is why s/he wants you to ask for the cancellation. The problem is going to be moot if the seller refuses to give his/her SSN to ebay so s/he can get paid. I'd wait until the estimated delivery passes and then file an Item Not Received case to get your money back.
