Seller requested a refund prior to delivery
Hi! I’m new to selling on eBay. I had my 2nd sale & shipped it out immediately yesterday. Today, the buyer contacted me (multiple times) stating the item is not as described & they want a refund. I assured him the item is as described & has been authenticated. They demanded that I not ship the item & refund (after acknowledging that I had shipped it). He then demanded more pictures of the item (which I can’t do because it’s been shipped). I’ve now received over 20 messages from him and am at a loss as to what to do. I’ve tried to reach EBay but can’t seem to get through. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mentor2 years agoPolitely explain to the buyer that if he feels the item is not as described after receiving and inspecting it, he is welcome to open a return request.
Since it is a $300 item, I would spend the approx $17 - $25 and request a package intercept to have the package returned to you. I would not tell the buyer about this option until you get confirmation of the intercept. Then you can write him and say 'great news! I was able to redirect the package back to me so I can refund your purchase as soon as it arrives'.

He can't open a not received claim until the estimated delivery date has passed, so that should give you time to refund when returned.
In the meantime, review the messages with customer service. There isn't really anything they can do to stop the harassment, but it always helps to get on the record early.
To speak to customer service, use the link on the left side of this page “have us call you†- https://www.ebay.com/help/contact_us?id=4002&st=10

If you don't see 'have us call you' right under the chat link, click chat. Then at the bottom of the chat topics, click more, then click contact an agent.
