Seller reports wrong physical location in postings
I was shopping for an item and found three prospective sellers I was interested in. When I checked their location all three said USA. After communication with one of them I find they are in China. Is this OK to falsely report location?? Is this something to be concerned about?

One or more of these sellers might be trying to use weasel words to mislead you. It would be difficult for a Chinese person to use nuance to trick you, since English isn't their native language, but they might be trying to conflate seller location and item location to avoid a straight answer. As an example, the seller could be sitting on a chair in Hong Kong, but the items that he's selling are stored and shipped out of a warehouse in Sacramento. Or vice versa.
The first thing I'd do is check the estimated delivery time in the listing. Items shipped to the US from within the US would take relatively short time to arrive. But if they have to be shipped to the US on a slow boat from China... you get the idea.

follow up ~ Here's an example. On June 6 I purchased some brass screws from China. I'd rather buy from a US seller, but nobody had/has what I need. Anyway, my point is, I bought them June 6 and the Delivery Estimate is between July 1 to July 8. A month. This seller doesn't try to obfuscate either his own or the item's location, so it wasn't necessary for me to use my sleuthing skills, but, as you've learned, other sellers could be less forthright.

This is something to be concerned about.
While I don't automatically discount that international trade is important, I do have issue with sellers that pretend that they are not located outside the US.
We deserve the truth when we purchase an item and we deserve to be able to have honest listings.
