Seller reneged on my accepted bid. I have not been able to get any response from ebay.
A seller accepted my bid. In the notification that my bid had been accepted, I noted that the payment was to be made using an expired credit card number, but there is and was at that time a valid Mastercard on file for me. I immediately told the seller, and offered to give him my credit card number, but he said the transaction could only be done through ebay. Ebay said there was no way to change the method of payment, but that the seller should re-list the item and then sell it to me at the price already agreed to. The seller relisted it as an auction item with about 5 days more before the auction would close and he refused to sell it to me at the formerly agreed price. I had a chat with an ebay "assistant" who said the item was mine, because the seller had originally accepted my offer but now I have no response from ebay about this dispute

The Ebay assistant was wrong.
The item was not yours if the item was relisted and the seller refused to sell it to you at the formerly agreed price.
