Seller refusing to send item
I won an auction last night. I paid immediately when the auction closed. Now the seller is refusing to send the item. Here's what he wrote, "Good morning. There is some kind of mistake. I removed this item. It should not have been listed. I am sorry for any inconvenience this caused you."
I explained to him that is not how ebay works and that he needs to send the item or I will file a complaint. He wrote back, "file the complaint."
I appreciate any insight on the steps to take. Thanks

Mentor5 months agoGo to your Purchase History and locate the purchased item. What is the last estimated delivery date? You have up to 30 days past that date in order to file an Item Not Received case, to get your money back. Once you file, the seller has 3 days to provide a tracking number that shows Delivered or issue a full refund. If the seller does neither, on day 4 you return to the case and click Ask ebay to step in, to force a refund.
If it is past the 30 day limit, you will need to log into Paypal and file an Item Not Received case there, if that is how you paid, as they allow up to 180 days from date of purchase to file, to get your money back.
If you paid with a credit card, file a charge back with your credit card issuer.

Mentor5 months agoYou can't force the seller to send the item, but if he lies about the reason you can report him. Otherwise, ebay will put a strike on his account and still charges fees for the sale. Mistakes do happen, but if seller does this often ebay will take note and restrict or suspend him.
