Seller refusing to mail till gets paid
I offered money for an item and the seller accepted. The seller has contacted me multiple times stating he has not received money so will not ship it. The seller account is new and I’m 99% sure how that it’s a scam. eBay already took my money. I tried to cancel but says I have to go through the seller. What should I do to be refunded

Mentor2 years agoThe seller most likely is new, and does not understand how payment holds work.
If the seller was actually a scammer the seller would do things differently -- like providing false tracking rather than telling you that the seller would delay shipping. Scammers want to lull you into having a false sense of security, not alert you that there are problems and make you suspicious.
You can tell the seller that delaying shipping is counterproductive and that eBay will most likely delay the payment until after tracking shows that it has been received since the seller is new, but the seller may not believe you or accept that explanation.

You can file an "item not received" case with eBay the day after the last estimated delivery date, and then ask eBay to step in three business days later if the seller does not cooperate.
You may want to consider dealing with more experienced sellers to avoid this sort of situation in the future.
