Seller refuses to admit they sent the wrong item
Summary: mek1965 shared their experience of ordering shoes and receiving the wrong size and damaged product from a seller. Despite providing multiple photos as evidence, the seller denied the mistake and was uncooperative in facilitating a return or a refund. eastlaneave and inceptions advised mek1965 to open a Return Request through eBay, suggesting that eBay would intervene if the seller does not provide a return label or refund within three business days. They emphasized not closing the request until the issue is resolved.
I ordered shoes NWB shoes, size 37, but received damaged, size 38 but with box size 37. After opening the box (within minutes of delivery, timestamped) I immediately took multiple pics of inner shoes showing wrong size along with box, etc. Every angle. These are very $$$ shoes. Seller's policy is buyer pays return shipping, estimated $15. I contacted seller as soon as I took the pics and uploaded them in messages to seller. Seller said "We sent you the shoes you purchased", despite my invoice clearly stating my order as size 37. Wow. I sent 7+ pics, they kept asking for more, "need shoe bottoms", then 3 days later "We pics of box(I'd already sent), then they wanted "more pics of whole [view of] shoes". After of of those pics uploaded, I demanded that they confirm and admit their mistake that they'd sent the wrong size. They never did. They're response 3 days later- no admission- "give us your email and we'll send you a return label".
Without any confirmation that they'd actually refund any money-nor saying the label was pre-paid.
Tried to contact a human at Ebay, and they've tried calling for intervention, but t-mobile won't or can't remove the spam filter, so ebay can't intervene. Basically: seller doesn't recognize wrong item sent-hence no guarantee of refund, just "I may be screwed" PLUS I may have also paid to be even more screwed to send back item plus $ for return shipping.
Advice? How do I get ebay human email? Ebay's instructions to get email help just goes back to ai chat

OP3 weeks agoThanks for the advice! I've received bad merch, completely misrepresented (mostly shoes, clearly very used in bad shape, not NIB). These past sellers had high volume and high ratings, and I'm sure I couldn't have been the only one they duped. I guess some people just don't want to "make waves" and "let it go". I just don't get it.

Mentor3 weeks agoHi @mek1965
You don't need to contact eBay. Here's what to do...
If you’ve received an item that is not as described, you have up to 30 days to open a return using the option next to the transaction in your Purchase History. The seller will have 3 business days to provide a prepaid return shipping label or else refund. If he does neither, go back to the case on day 4 and use the option to ask eBay to step in. eBay will force the refund.

I am sorry that happened!
You should open a Return Request. The reason could be "Different from what I ordered > Didn't Match Description" if the item you got was not what was shown and described.
The seller will pay the return shipping.
You can open your return request here. Just click the photo and follow the instructions. You don't need to talk to anyone at eBay.

Do not close your return request until you either have your refund in hand or you have the replacement item. Do not close it because the seller promises you something.
