Seller refuses return
Seller refuses return due to " return shipping cost". I thought ebay either provided free shipping labels or reimbursed sellers for return shipping cost. eBay website won't let me appeal for some reason. I tried calling eBay they are are not available cause it is a Sunday. And tomorrow is a holiday. Don't want to be stuck with an Item I can't use. Wanting a refund. Please help!

If your seller does not accept returns, they can deny a return for the reason "wrong item ordered"
Look for sellers that offer "free returns" if you don't want to keep the items you order.
Sellers do not have to respond to their emails 24/7. They are regular people. They might have jobs. They eat and sleep and have normal activities that they partake in. They are not required to respond to your requests immediately.
If the seller denied your return, it is because they don't accept returns. They did not even have to tell you why. It sounds like your seller did nothing wrong and was in their rights to deny the return. They would not have that option if they were required to accept the return.
eBay won't be able to change the seller return policy.
Perhaps you could try to sell it yourself?

What reason did you select for the return? That matters.

OP11 months agoWrong item ordered. I think. I already talked to the seller. They are refusing the return outright. They tried to lie about losing out on shipping costs. It's a approximate $12 that I spent. I know eBay does get a small cut of the sale. But they don't get a cut of any returns. But I know eBay has several programs/ other things for sellers and buyers. Such as a reimbursement program where if the seller purchases the return label through eBay. They get reimbursed for the cost of the label. They used to do free labels through eBay but not sure if that program is still available or not.
Unfortunately the seller waited to respond very late. I received the item yesterday morning in the mail. I put in the return request very early yesterday saturday. They declined the request this morning at just before 11 am Tomorrow is a holiday. No message from the seller until I sent one asking why my return was declined. Then they went on the speal about shipping costs.
So I won't be able to get ahold of anyone at eBay until Tues morning now because of the holiday tomorrow.
Don't let sellers fool you. They get messages instantly. It's just when they decide to respond to stuff that is an issue. And it's whether or not they decide to lie about stuff. Everyone on eBay has rights to stuff seller or buyer. It's the shady and lying sellers that make the community look bad.

Mentor11 months agoSellers are not required to accept a "remorse" return when a buyer has a change of mind.
eBay does not reimburse sellers for return shipping costs. The seller is required to either pay for return shipping or refund without return for "not as described" returns -- but not "remorse" returns.
If you returned the item outside of eBay by paying for your own label, eBay may not be able to help you get your money back.

OP11 months agoI offered to pay for return shipping. So I could at least get something back and they could have the item for resell. They still refused the refused. The item is unused. It is a computer thing I ordered. I ordered the incorrect item. The seller is just unwilling to work with me. They are flat out refusing to I should say.
