Seller refuses refund of wrong item
Summary: betheli_73 expressed frustration about receiving a counterfeit item from an eBay seller that was supposed to be Nike. The product was not only the wrong color, but also of noticeably poor quality, with peeling letters and a suspicious tag. The issue was further complicated by a receipt meant for a different person, and the seller closed the return request without offering an explanation. betheli_73 is seeking advice on potential recourse through eBay to prevent similar situations and obtain a refund.
I purchased an item and thought it would be sent quicker. I had to go out of country on emergency trip so I didn't get package till much later. It was addressed to me just fine When I opened one end and saw the product, it was completely wrong color, the listing states nike but it's obvious in the cheap fabric being all thin and chincy, the odd and cheap looking tag that is not a Nike tag (I order/buy a lot of Nike)and the lettering was thin and already starting to peel at one letters corner. The listing never said "dupe" or indicated a fake. PLUS, THE INSIDE RECEIPT/invoice had a name and address for this EXACT wrong color item and was addressed to someone else at far different address. Seller denied return with no explanation and just closed return... because of the time frame I'm assuming .... But this is a unique circumstance and clearly she was in the wrong regardless. It's there any RECOURSE by eBay. I use eBay A LOT and this has been a true disappointment. NOTHING WAS RIGHT ABOUT THIS ORDER. I hope there's a way to stop this from happening again to someone else and get a refund.

In most categories on eBay, if the item is "not as described" you need to start a "not as described" return within thirty days of receiving it. You will have to provide a picture of the item and a couple of sentences of text about the issue.
If the seller does not refund you or provide a return shipping label you should be able to ask eBay to step in after three business days. The process is automated; if the seller does not cooperate at any point, ask eBay to step in after three business days but before twenty-one business days has passed.

Past thirty days or if you cannot get satisfaction from eBay, you may still have some recourse through your payment method; contact your card issuer for details.
