Seller refund for expired offer price
I got an offer for $11,200 for an item that is now back to $11,900. My offer expired and I messaged the seller would the still accept $11,200. They said yes, but i would have to pay full price then they would refund me the difference. Said eBay would only allow them to send one offer. Stated that since they messaged me they would give me the difference in a refund through our messages that EBAY would make them honor it.

Mentor2 years agoHi @caleb1583 Did you have the item on your Watch List and get an offer from the seller for a percentage off the listed price because you were watching it? That offer the seller can only send once. But there is nothing to keep you from sending the seller an offer for $11,200 and them accepting it.
Don't pay more than agreed. eBay has no way to make the seller honor the refund of a $700 overpayment. There are only two ways eBay can help buyers: 1) Item Not As Described; 2) Item Not Received. If you pay for the item and when received it is not as the seller described it in the listing, eBay can help get your money back. If you pay for the item and never receive it, eBay can help get your money back. But if you willing overpay the seller for an item, eBay has no mechanism to help get your money back. So on that point, let's just say the seller is misinformed.
@gosimus asked for the item number. It helps a lot to determine what kind of seller you're dealing with and whether or not they can in fact modify the listing. Good luck!

·2 years agoTell the seller to set the price to the agreed upon $1200.
When they do (and not until they do), purchase the item.
If they won’t do this, or make an excuse, you have your answer.

That sounds fishy ... I don't believe it, but I can't anything to explicitly back up my suspicion. What about you, though? Couldn't you send the seller an offer for 11,200? What is the item number?

I don't believe that one, either.
