seller provided inaccurate information and refuses to work with me to make it right
Purchased a Hawthorne Xmas village piece from a seller.
- Stated piece was new and in an opened box.
- I don't know for sure, but I think that brand new units come with a cardboard box around the styrofoam box?
- Regardless it was obviously opened and contained no light bulb cord.
- This is the 7th year in a row I purchased one of these for my wife and they've always come with a cord.
- Contacted the seller who was unprofessional and basically told:
- It was new and obviously the box had to be opened to take pictures.
- These pieces don't come with cords.
- I searched the internet for info to confirm the what the seller said but I found nothing conclusive. Thus I let it go and purchased my own cord.
- When I went to pack away the piece for the season in the box provided by the seller, I came across the instructions which indicate the cord does come with a new unit.
- Contacted the seller with this new information and they refuse to take any steps to make this right.
What can I do to at minimum ensure this seller is unable to do this to anyone else if not receive some sort of compensation?
Thanks in advance.

Mentor3 years agoYes, if new and unopened, as far as I know, should have come with an outside cardboard wrap and included a lamp cord socket.
You either have to return as an Item Not as Described for a refund, or spend a buck for a new lamp socket cord and keep it.
