Seller protections against abusive buyers
Has ebay just stopped protecting sellers altogether. I had a buyer leave me a neutral because he was mad that the camera I sold him didn't come with a lens cap even though I never mentioned one in the listing or showed one in the photos. I did include a list of everything that WAS included, which didn't include the lens cap. The buyer left me neutral stating the item was not as described because I didn't include a lens cap with the bundle. When I applied for feedback removal and invoked my seller protections, eBay's AI bots automatically denied it because the buyer claimed it wasn't as described. If eBay is going to rely on AI to do all their work and thinking, they need to at least make sure that AI is accurate in their assessment of situations. In no way do I deserve a neutral feedback for there not being a lens cap that was never included in the first place. My listing was clear and accurate. EBAY needs to get their act together and either allow actual humans to review the feedback removals and do the investigating required to determine a fair outcome for sellers, or make sure that AI does an accurate assessment. This has happened to me 4 times since May. I even spoke to reps who claimed they would "get back to me with an updated correction" who never ever emailed or got back to me or resolved any of my issues. EBAY refuses to protect me even when I provide proof of the violations and inaccuracies. Never mind trying to get on the phone with an actual person. It's pretty much impossible. I understand a neutral is not that big of a deal. It's not the point. The point is, Ebay does not follow its own policies and leaves sellers out to dry even when they prove their case. I'm tired of it. Is there anything I can do as a seller to invoke my seller protections that is actually effective?
