Seller protection when an item is damaged in shipping

Question

Is there a way to contact Ebay to speak a live person? I recently shipped an order, as the seller, and it was damaged in shipping. How do I open a claim to get my money back since in was damaged in shipping. I thought Ebay offered sellers $200 insurance on items shipped.

Ask the buyer for a few pictures of the item and package, then refund the buyer.

Have the buyer hang on to the item and package so it can be inspected.

You file a claim with the carrier, if it was insured.

The Post office has $100.00 worth of insurance on Priority mail. You will need to file a claim with them, I believe you can do that online. EBay doesn't insure anything.
