Seller posted incorrect shipping amount and wants buyer to pay difference.
Seller posted item with $17.46 shipping charge. There weren't any other shipping options offered. I ordered and paid for the item and the transaction was processed on Monday at 5 PM.
On Tuesday at 1 PM the seller sent the following email: Hello, I hope you are doing well. I am writing to inform you that eBay made an error when calculating the shipping cost for your order. Unfortunately, the shipping amount charged at checkout was lower than the actual carrier cost required to ship the item. Please let me know how you would like to proceed, and I will be happy to assist.
I responded, Shouldn't it be worked out with eBay if it was their error? A big selling point was the shipping price.
Seller stated, Indeed, eBay is fully aware of this issue and is reviewing these messages. We reached out to them, and they acknowledged it was their mistake. Their proposed resolution was either to ask the buyer to provide their own shipping account or to cancel the order.
I'm looking for policy language that states that the seller has to honor the processed transaction as it was his error in posting incorrect package shipping info. I really want the item, especially at the price + shipping amount, but I'm afraid that the order will be cancelled and they will not send the item.

It was not eBay’s error - the seller is responsible for providing the correct data for the calculation.
A seller can only ask for more when the buyer asks for an upgrade in service.
https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/shipping-items/shipping-rates/updating-shipping-options?id=4170&st=3&pos=2&query=Updating%20your%20shipping%20charges&intent=Asking%20buyer%20for%20more%20shipping&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1142
The only other language I can find is the opening statement here - https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/sellers-can-cancel-order?id=4136&st=3&pos=1&query=How%20sellers%20can%20cancel%20an%20order&intent=Cancel&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1090
which says a seller is obligated to complete the sale.
You cannot force the seller to ship the item. If he cancels the transaction, you can report this policy violation.
