Seller Performance defect removal
Two months ago my warehouse was broken into by a stalker (yes, for real) who dumped everything out, urinated on clothes and started a small fire, setting off the sprinkler system for my unit. I was unable to make good on a few orders and cancelled three, immediately issuing refunds. Because I am fairly new and didn't realize that this was not the best option, and they became defects and sent my seller performance (that has always been above average) into the gutter. Now eBay is not allowing me to promote, send offers and is charging me a penalty fee on orders, that rarely happen. I asked for the defects to be removed and explained what happened, offering them the police reports about the incident and subsequent arrest. It fell on deaf ears. However, when the warehouse and inventory were back in order I sent the undamaged items out, free of charge (I had issues refunds previously) because it was the right thing to do. One of these orders resulted in positive feedback that I mentioned in my defect removal request and eBay still denied it and even warned me that this is "FINAL and cannot be escalated" like I was a burden for asking such a thing.
I am not going to give up, even if I have ONE removed, I will be happy. The problem is that next to the item it states that I have already asked for the defect to be removed and I can't get a representative on the phone. Please advise. Thanks in advance for your help and expertise.

Mentor2 years ago@mariethrasher the answer has already been given u by ebay.
companies (except insurance) would be out of business if they took on all the personal problems of their partners, employees, etc.
IMO - the best u can do is to keep selling to bring your numbers back up, even if u list cheap fast selling items in addition to your regular listings.
Good Selling Luck!
