seller ordered item not available

Actually, the item listing is of a different model than available for sale. I sent email and mentioned what I do have, or can cancel (waiting for them to cancel because when I cancel prematurely I get neg feedback or mark. Usually they confirm they know or to go ahead and cancel. No reply. Now I'm at risk of neg, mark, and/or or late ship? Just cancel?

If you have a listing and the exact item is not available, you should cancel the transaction. NOT the buyer since you are responsible for accuracy in your listings. You will receive a defect from Ebay and possible negative feedback from the buyer which are the repercussions of an inaccurate listing.
