Seller opened a claim for unreceived item but....
I had a seller open a claim because the item I shipped showed as delivered but they didn't receive it. In communicating with them, the seller actually used an old address that they no longer live at. They have checked with the people at that address and no one knows where the package is. I am trying to work with them but I am also afraid this is going to cost me even though it wasn't my mistake. This is new territory for me as I have not had an issue with someone not receiving their items. Do I continue to just try to make it right for them even though it wasn't my error?

Mentor2 years agoIf the buyer provided a wrong address then that is on them. If tracking shows the item delivered to the address the buyer provided on payment then eBay will protect you. Since they opened a claim for an Item not Received just place the tracking number into the response to the claim. Then contact eBay customer service and have them check the tracking manually to prove delivery. Then ask eBay to close the claim in your favor.
You can contact customer service using this link to ask for a call back: https://www.ebay.com/help/contact_us?id=4191&st=10 Please note that if the wait time for a call back is too long eBay will remove the option until the wait time is shorter. Just try again later. Customer service is open from 5am to 9pm Pacific Time.
