Seller only refunded less than half what I paid. I can't figure out how to appeal this to Ebay...
I live in Alaska and needed an item ASAP. I found it on Ebay with a $10 USPS Priority Mail shipping fee. Priority is the only way to get things to Alaska in a timely manner. So I ordered it and the seller shipped it Ground Advantage. I was forced to order the item elsewhere from an outfit that actually ships Priority.
I returned the item expecting a full refund and was refunded less than half the total. Deducted was the $9.99 I paid for Priority Mail, $9.99 for return shipping and $0.60 of the tax I had to pay. I would appreciate it if someone would tell me get help from Ebay or if I even have any recourse in this. Nothing I've tried has worked.
I think my mistake in this return was selecting "ordered by mistake", meaning my mistake was trusting that seller to honor their shipping statement. There was no obvious selection tailored to a false shipping statement. Anybody know what I should have selected?

Mentor2 years agoThere is no way to recover the deductions. When you selected ordered by mistake, that made these costs your responsibility.
When an item arrives late, it can be returned at the seller’s expense - late arrival makes it not as described. But you must select does not match the description for the reason for return. It can not be changed after the return is submitted.
