Seller non responsive regarding warranty issue
I bought an auto part at the end of April. Had it installed early may. By July it was failing. I reached out to the seller for assistance with the one year warranty. After some back and forth, seller claimed to have ordered a replacement. 2 months later, no replay has arrived and seller has not responded to any inquiries during that time. eBay customer service has been no help at all. Does anyone have any advice other than “don’t buy from eBay”? This was a $700 purchase.

Warranties are through the manufacturer MOST manufacturers will not honor the warranty if the item is sold by a third party and not an authorized retail location.

The last 2 sellers you have bought from are China based. The auto parts sold by them often say things in the item specifics like Brand: Unbranded and Country of Origin: Unknown. They may also have Manufacturer warranty: 1 year. However when you receive the item there is no warranty card or instructions on how to use the Mfr's. warranty.
Your eBay protections are only good for 30 days after receiving an item, and they cannot force a seller or Mfr. to honor their warranty.

The only advice we can supply to avoid these type issues are: To read every thing on a listing page carefully, and to check each seller's feedback profile before buying from one. If you want to buy auto parts on ebay, Never buy them from China based sellers. To learn how to avoid those sellers who often list a U.S. location for their items, open the link below, and read the reply I posted there.
