Seller needs FedEx refund for shipment that FedEx returned to Seller
Good morning! I shipped a package to the address the buyer provided via FedEx and FedEx returned the package to me. From FedEx: "Returning package to shipper Unable to deliver shipment - Returning to shipper". I would like eBay or FedEx to refund my shipping fees. Why does eBay make this so difficult?

OP10 months agoThanks for all your help. The only info I got from FedEx is from their website - "Returning package to shipper Unable to deliver shipment - Returning to shipper". I guess I can try calling them to see if they can tell me what happened.

Mentor10 months ago@jax.deals. When/ if the item is returned to you in the same condition then I would refund the item price only.
Next relist and let the buyer know that if they would like it reshipped they will need to buy it again and provide a different address at checkout.
eBay actually doesn't require a seller to refund when a package is returned to sender as long as you shipped to the address provided at checkout.
Most sellers do issue the partial refund.
You can also choose to block the buyer after you give the partial refund.

OP10 months agoThank you! The buyer filed a claim because the item was delayed, and then FedEx ended up returning the package to me about a week after the scheduled delivery date. I would have given a partial refund minus the shipping, but eBay only gave me the option to give a full refund.

Mentor10 months agoI see that's different than a refused package. Since you will get the item back I don't believe that the new seller protections apply.
You can try contacting customer service and see what they say if you used an eBay shipping label.

Mentor10 months agoeBay will not refund you. You purchased the label and shipped the item.
FedEx will not refund you as they did try to deliver the item.
The only one that might refund you is the original buyer that had you ship the item to an address that was not deliverable but that is a long shot and might not be successful.
Did you get any information as to why the package was not delivered?
