seller misrepresented the items condition
I purchased a Yale door lock but could not install it within 30days. The seller (Legacy.shop) listed it as "certified - open box". Which to me is it has been confirmed functional. It was not functional due to prior account registration. Since the lock was already registered to another person, it is rendered totally unusable by Yale. Seller refused to work with me for a return and asked me to lie to the warranty company Square trade. I did check with square trade but they said they could do nothing for a item with a prior condition. Ebay does not support rectifying anything after 30 days, and they allow sellers to post descriptions as "certified" and will not listen to any grievence of the false posting. Is there anything I can do?

File a chargeback on your payment method, PayPal, or credit card. That goes back to eBay and your seller.
I'm sorry that happened.
