Seller Location Filter
Lately I have had issues with sellers claiming to be in the United States (US), but after purchasing the item, the item ends up being shipped from China or some other country.
It would seem there has to be a way of holding sellers accountable for shipping items from a country that is not disclosed in the posting ad to sell the item.
Only 1 out of 7 or 8 items I purchased recently was from the US, even after selecting the US filter when viewing items to buy.
Very frustrating.

·1 year agoYou can report a seller for misrepresenting their item's location. eBay takes those reports seriously, though I can't promise any action will be taken for a single report, or that you'll ever know if eBay took action since they won't tell you if they did.
You can use this link to report a seller: https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022
This is the specific policy that they have violated, which is good to reference in the report: https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-policies/item-location-policy?id=4244

Mentor1 year agoProbably the best way to deal with sellers that misrepresent item location is to avoid them. The "US only" item location filter selects items that are listed as being in the United States; however, as you have seen, not every seller that lists items in the US ships from the US as they should.
Before ordering you should check the estimated delivery dates -- that is a good indication of how far away items actually ship from. Also, going to a seller's profile page or feedback page will tell you where the seller's account was registered. Although some overseas sellers do use US warehouses to ship their items (and some registered US-sellers may employ overseas drop-shippers), if a seller is registered overseas, that raises the likelihood of an item shipping from outside the US, particularly for multiple quantity commodity items. Checking seller feedback will often reveal if there are problems with long shipping times, canceled orders or other supply chain warning signs.
