Seller lied to cancel order then relisted at much higher price

I purchased baldurs gate 3 collectors edition from a seller a month ago, and today he sent me a message with a photo saying that his order from the manufacturer was cancelled and he can no longer procure the item for me. He asked me if it was ok to cancel, and while disappointed, I saw no real option. When searching for a replacement item not even an hour after he cancelled it, I saw that he posted it at almost triple the price that I had originally bought it for. Isn't this fraudulent? If the seller asks you to agree to a cancellation, he is trying to weasel out of earning a defect on his seller record. Unless you specifically ask for a cancellation or there is a problem with your address, he is supposed to cancel using the reason that the item is out of stock or damaged. Did he do that?

And what does he mean he can't procure the item from the manufacturer? He is supposed to have the item in hand already (unless he dropships). If he relisted, then the item is available and he was expected to honor the sale at the price on the listing.
