Seller Level
Summary: jpm_6257 is seeking advice on how to improve their eBay seller rating after falling below standard due to three unresolved cases out of 472 transactions. arraus suggests appealing the cases through eBay’s documentation and policy terms, emphasizing the seller’s long track record and potential procedural miscommunications. They also recommend contacting eBay’s customer service, appealing through the Seller Hub, and considering strategy adjustments such as promoted listings to mitigate the impact in the meantime.
So, I've been selling sports cards on Ebay for a couple of years now. For the VAST majority of time I have been at standard or top rated. I'm now at below standard because of three cases closed without seller resolution out of 472 transactions. I really regret those, and they were honest mistakes, but this being below standard has really negatively affected my business. Also, the first one won't roll off till March and with the NFL season starting, I really need my level at standard. Does anyone have any advice on how I can appeal to ebay to help me get back to at least standard. I'd really appreciate it.

Ouch! I remember I had ONE bad day shipping and got a ton of account "defects" for it. It sucks when these happen.
Cases closed without seller resolution are some of the most hurtful.
You can appeal these and have removed if they fit eBay’s criteria. Check their documentation on cases closed without seller resolution and state your case in as few words as possible.
Read about the criteria & refer to applicable policy terms in your Appeal:
Handling return requests as a seller: Outlines step-by-step instructions on how sellers must respond to return requests, accept returns promptly, and manage cases within eBay's required timeframes.
Seller performance standards policy: Details how transactions are evaluated, what causes a case to be closed without seller resolution, and how defects impact seller levels (Standard, Above Standard, or Below Standard).
If you ignored INADs consistently, getting them removed is a long shot. Even when it feels totally unfair, you’ve got to accept those return requests to protect your metrics.
APPEAL...
Appeal directly through the Seller Dashboard (Seller Hub > Performance > Customer Service Performance) by locating the specific transaction defects and clicking "Report an issue" or "Appeal" if tracking shows the item was delivered on time or if the buyer messaged to resolve the issue outside the claim.
Contact eBay Customer Service via Help & Contact and request an escalation to a supervisor or the Appeals Team, emphasizing your multi-year track record (472 transactions with only 3 isolated incidents) and that the buyers never responded or that it was a procedural miscommunication (whatever is TRUE, be honest or you'll have no chance).
IN THE MEAN TIME...
Pivot to listing items via promoted listings (if possible) or adjusting pricing tiers temporarily to capture margin back while rebuilding volume. Keep in mind that high-volume, lower-priced, sports card transactions can quickly dilute your defect percentages once additional sales clear (without defects).
