It was 5 out of 1221 purchases disputed and my percentage was .41% upon evaluation it shows 5 out of 1151 and my % increased to .43%. How does this math work?
Here is how to do the calculations
5 / 1221 = .004095 this is the same as .4095% which rounds to .41
5 / 1151 = .004344 this is the same as .4344% which rounds to .43%
Your defects stay for 1 year, unless you have more than 400 sales in a quarter, then the period is 3 months.
You can have 0 cases without seller resolution.
When a buyer opens a return case, you need to either
a) Send a shipping label for the buyer to return the item, and then refund the buyer when you get your item
or
b) Refund the buyer without a return (which is likely more practical for living items.
The problem isn't that the buyer opened the case, the defect comes when you don't do a or b and then eBay has to step in and refund the buyer.
You can avoid those by just responding to the cases and doing what needs to be done.
Just don't ignore the case again.
Cases closed without the seller resolving them must be under 0.3%
That would be about 3 with 1100 sales for the year.
I do not understand how the seller level works. I know it is based off sales for a period of time pending # of transactions from seller in time frame. So I monitored my my "cases closed without seller resolution" leading up to the May 20th evaluation. It was 5 out of 1221 purchases disputed and my percentage was .41% upon evaluation it shows 5 out of 1151 and my % increased to .43%. How does this math work?
Lastly, one of my cases without seller resolution which I appealed was denied, even though the customer stated in messages that they do not file a case, basically they did not know what they were doing and the seller is suffering the consequences......... Maybe best to leave this platform.....

You can't appeal a seller level. Occasionally there are specific items that can be adjusted, but not often.
