Seller left retaliatory negative comments as “positive” feedback. Unable to report it.
Summary: cang-rica is seeking advice on how to remove retaliatory feedback left by a seller on eBay. After a transaction was canceled by the seller due to a supposedly 'risky' shipping address, cang-rica received positive feedback with negative comments falsely accusing them of fraud. arraus advised contacting eBay Customer Service for a manual review, as such feedback violates eBay's policy against negative comments with positive ratings. They also recommended reporting the improper cancellation of the order. arraus expressed sympathy and encouraged action to prevent future issues.
Hi,
I’m looking for assistance getting feedback removed from my account and having the seller’s conduct reviewed.
I purchased a UGREEN NASync DXP2800 from this seller in late June. After I had already paid, the seller canceled the order, stating that they could not generate a shipping label and that my shipping address appeared risky/suspicious. My address was a valid eBay shipping address that I had successfully used for other purchases. The seller canceled the transaction and refunded me, so the item was never shipped to me. I also messaged him to ask why the order had been canceled and whether there was anything I could do to resolve the issue, but he only responded by saying that my address had been flagged as fraudulent.
I subsequently left feedback describing my experience with the canceled transaction.
The seller has now left “positive” feedback on my account containing an extremely negative accusation. They wrote that I am a “fraudulent” buyer, that I use a “fishy address,” and that I had the item shipped and later claimed it was not received.
That statement is false. The seller canceled the transaction themselves and refunded me. The item was never shipped to me, so I could not possibly have received it and then claimed non-receipt.
The problem is that because the seller selected Positive when leaving the feedback, I am not being given the normal option to report it. It appears that the positive rating is being used to post what is effectively retaliatory negative feedback against a buyer.
eBay’s own “Leaving feedback for buyers” policy states that sellers can only leave positive feedback for buyers and that leaving a positive rating with a negative comment can cause confusion and will therefore be removed.
I have screenshots of the feedback and the original transaction/cancellation information. Could an eBay moderator or staff member please advise how I can have this feedback manually reviewed and removed? I would also appreciate eBay reviewing the seller’s conduct surrounding this transaction.
Thank you.

Sellers are not allowed to leave negative comments with a positive rating - it's a policy violation.
Go to this page to scroll down and click the Request feedback removal button:

State that the seller left negative comments with a positive rating. (You don't need to go into details...make it brief as suggested.)

I think you were right to leave the Seller negative feedback as a repercussion for them cancelling a legitimate order with a valid shipping address. The seller can respond to negative feedback left by Buyer, which they did. They explained why they cancelled.
I don't think you can get THAT removed. They're posting an honest response. The Negative hurts them, not you. Sellers do not look at Buyer feedback, in most cases. Your rating isn't affected by this.
However, sellers may NOT leave negative comments in your feedback, like they have done:
eBay Policy Restriction:
Sellers are strictly prohibited from leaving negative or neutral feedback for buyers. According to eBay’s Feedback policy overview, in the "When do we remove feedback?" section, eBay will remove feedback for "Negative comments with positive ratings, or positive comments with negative ratings". Masking a negative comment under a positive rating to retaliate or leave a negative remark is a direct policy violation that subjects the feedback to removal by eBay
Report the negative feedback comment the Seller left for you, as a Buyer, and ask for it to be removed:
You will need to contact eBay Customer Service directly via chat or phone to request a manual review.
When contacting support, state clearly that the seller left a positive rating accompanied by a negative text comment AFTER seller cancelled order (using terms like "BEWARE BEWARE", "fraudulent", "be cautious") to bypass the system, which violates feedback policies.
ALWAYS write a short statement to submit to eBay CS before contacting them. Be clear in as few of words as possible.
If you want to report the Seller for cancelling the order, do that. I think you should.
Buyers can report sellers for misusing cancellation reasons, such as falsely claiming an issue with the shipping address when they simply got cold feet.
Report this improper cancellation and policy violation by reaching out directly to eBay Customer Service via chat or phone, providing screenshots of the cancellation reason and the feedback response thread where the seller admitted to the "risky address" claim.
Sorry you went through this experience. Most sellers are better than this. I appreciate you taking action so this seller won't pull it again on some other buyer.
