Seller leaving a negative feedback with non-paying customer
Greetings All,
Back in 2001 when I joined Ebay, with a non-paying customer I was able to leave negative feedback for them. Simply stating this buyer did not pay for winning item. Fast forward, why is it a buyer free for all with ratings? It has come full circle the seller is not able to do so. Should the seller here the ability to leave a neutral or negative feedback for other sellers to see the history of said buyer? This should go both ways? Still with Ebay being a regulator for verbal abuse. Any thoughts?

Mentor3 years agoSellers have not been able to leave anything but positive feedback for a buyer since 2008. Feedback is not the way to deal with non-payers.
If a buyer hasn't paid by day five, select the cancellation option in the dropdown next to the order using the reason that the buyer hasn't paid. The buyer will earn an unpaid item strike on his account. Two or more and his ability to buy will be limited or even ended.
Add the buyer to your blocked buyer list here:
https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements
Scroll down that page and turn on the option to auto-block buyers with 2 or more unpaid items within 12 months. That will help to protect you from repeat offenders.
Sellers don't look at the feedback a buyer receives to evaluate him - they look at the feedback they leave for other sellers. The unpaid item strikes weed out the bad ones before they get to you.

OP3 years agoThank you so much for the information! Very Helpful. The option for the "2 or more unpaid items within 12 months" option, where do i find this? Before I started selling heavily once more, some years had passed. I was accustom to the feedback of negativity for all to see. I didn't know of the "the buyer will earn an unpaid item strike on his account. Two or more and his ability to buy will be limited or even ended". I had looked at the buyer's information, nothing had been motioned of the "non-paying" situation.
Thank you for the information for this dilemma. I have used the "blocked buyer" option, & the "report buyer" for the occasion.
Have a great day!

You'll find the link to block buyers with 2 or more unpaid items within 12 months in my previous reply. Just scroll down that page.

·3 years agoWhat good would leaving negative feedback do, it wouldn't stop them from not paying.
What does help is to cancel the order on day 5 for nonpayment and if they have two or more in a year, most sellers won't have to deal with them because they'll have them blocked.
