Seller kept my shipping money
Seller had item for sale.
I purchased item and paid for shipping.
I requested a return because I ordered the wrong item.
Seller accepted and only refunded the price of item and kept the money I spent for shipping.
I was also responsible for paying shipping to return.
Seller kept original shipping money and I'm unable to find help on eBay anywhere.

That's correct. You are not entitled to a refund on the original shipping - that money went to the carrier. If you purchased the wrong item, the error was yours, not the seller's. Why would you expect him to lose money for that?

OP1 year agoI guess I expected free returns to be free. I got to keep $9 of my $31 purchase 😄

This is the first time you mentioned anything about free returns. What is the item #?

·1 year agoOk, I looked. Yes, the seller should have paid return shipping. What else can you tell us about the return, so we can figure out why you paid that part. However, you’re still not entitled to receive the ORIGINAL shipping back.

Thanks for posting back with the item #. You're correct. The seller should have paid for return shipping.
Did you open a return request (versus just requesting through eBay messaging)? If so, when the seller accept the return, there should have been a link on the confirmation from eBay to print a prepaid return label paid for by the seller. Did you use that label?

OP1 year agoI used whatever link eBay gave me to click on. I've just been confused with this whole process.

So you printed the label and used that to ship the package? If so, that should have been automatically charged to the seller, and the refund would have been for the item price plus sales tax.
