Seller issue: 2 items shipped with eBay standard envelope but not tracked as delivered
I've had two orders recently that I shipped with eBay standard envelope. Both items were tracked to the local post office where they were sent and then "out for delivery"--but have not been delivered for over a month. I issued refunds to both buyers. However, how do I get compensated for the value of the sold items?

Mentor5 months ago@detroithawkeye I just wanted to clarify..... ESE shipments often do not get a delivery scan, this however doesn't mean they are not delivered. This is because the tracking is only read by the sorting equipment and not all locations have the equipment needed, or the post office just skips the last step.
Don't automatically refund a buyer just because a tracking doesn't show delivery.
However DO refund the buyer if they file a not received refund request within 3 days of open the refund request to avoid having eBay step in and force a refund.
After you refund from the case then you file an PIP insurance claim to get your money back. No need to be out of pocket on it>
Filing a claim
If you believe your envelope was lost in shipping, you'll need to wait 30 days to file a claim. Claims must be filed no later than 90 days from the date the shipping label was created.
You can reduce the amount of the claim if your shipment was only partially lost or damaged, however the claim amount cannot be more than the item's sold price.

eBay does not compensate sellers in these situations. Losses will be accounted for on your year end taxes.
