Seller is selling fake essential oils
Hi, I need help with something. I bought some Young Living Lavender essential oil from a seller, but when I received the oil, I could tell immediately that it smelled off... nothing like the original. The bottle looks authentic, right down to the seal (giving the impression that it hasn't been opened or tampered with), except I can tell 100% that the solution has been mixed with a mysterious carrier oil. I've been diffusing the real deal (bought from Young Living themselves) for the last week, so I know what I'm smelling here.
The seller doesn't offer returns... what should I do? I want to warn others through feedback, but I also want my money back. And judging from previous feedback, it sounds like he blocks people once they catch on. Even more fishy, is that he sends free 5ml samples with his orders. The sample I got actually smells better than the lavender I paid for, and could be authentic, but because I have nothing to compare it to, I don't trust it either.

Just request a return and ask eBay to step in if the seller doesn't cooperate.

OP3 years agoThanks for the advice, I'm still waiting on the seller. Hopefully ebay will help. I have no real way of proving to them that the solution is tampered with.

Ebay can help, but only if you start with requesting a return.

OP3 years agoShe went ahead and accepted the return and I'm glad. And I think we have both came to the conclusion that he/she is selling really old and ancient oils. If this truly is the case, then wow... they really do go bad after awhile. This lavender, I'm not even kidding, smells very acidic and chemical. I would put it around like, gasoline tier. The seller obviously doesn't know what she's doing. No mention of age in the description... so it's just a free-for-all, a luck of the draw as to what you get, and I really don't like that. Never buying essential oils on ebay ever again.
