Seller is refusing to ship an item I paid for due to a dispute they're having with eBay
A seller that I purchased from hasn't shipped an item in over 2 weeks. I sent a message to their inbox and they responded that they're not shipping anything until eBay releases their funds, claiming eBay has been holding a significant amount of money for several months.
I want the items that I've purchased, but I don't know what the best steps to take are. The seller is still active and has many items listed on eBay currently.

Mentor6 months agoVery good. Keep an eye on the dates and don't let the case time out or you will lose. This honestly shouldn't be your problem.

Mentor6 months agoYes, all new/returning sellers are subject to a 30 day hold period. The funds are then released. BUT, that should have no bearing on them selling their items. They will quickly find themselves losing their selling privileges over bad buyer experiences. That being said, eBay can't make anyone ship an item. You are protected by the eBay 30 day money back guarantee, as explained to you above. Sorry this is happening to you. This seller won't be around long if this is their customer service.

OP6 months agoThank you. The seller claims that a previous buyer filed a frivolous charge with their bank and it has resulted in this currently 3 month and still ongoing hold, I don’t exactly understand what’s happening on their end but I’ll open that claim if needed before the deadline.

All you can do is wait for the estimated delivery date. You then have 30 days to open a not received claim. eBay cannot force a seller to ship, but they can force him to send a refund.
After the last expected delivery date, but no more than 30 days after the last expected delivery date, go to your purchase history - select 'I haven't received it' and follow the prompts.
The seller has 3 business days to provide tracking that shows delivery, or a refund. If he doesn't, go to your case and click 'ask us to step in'.
