Seller is now away during window of time I need item.
Summary: andrjeme is facing an issue with a diaper delivery that was confirmed as delivered but was sent to the wrong address. They contacted the seller, who is now unavailable for a week, causing concern about receiving a replacement or a refund before a baby shower on 08/15. andrjeme is uncertain if their messages are being received or if the issue can be resolved in time.
I bought a case of baby diapers for an upcoming baby shower. I received an email stating that the package had been delivered. (The time listed was less than 20 minutes before I walked out my door.) No sign of a package. I was able to obtain information that it was FedEx and a tracking number. FedEx tracking site shows a photo of the package outside a different home. (Definitely not my house nor do I recognize that house as being anywhere up or down my street.) I got a message from seller asking me to confirm street address. Upon sending my reply mere hours after their request, now I am getting an auto-reply that the seller is away for nearly a week. I had expressly mentioned in my initial message that this item is for a baby shower on 08/15 and if they can't ensure a replacement to me by 08/14, I instead want a refund. How am I to know if they are still monitoring for my reply or if I can get a refund at this point if the diapers wouldn't arrive before I would need them to bring to the shower on 08/15? Are sellers getting all the case messages/correspondence/details?

I'm sorry that happened. You've started some of these steps
1) First, call the post office/shipper to see if the tracking number label contained your name and your address. (They won't tell you whose name is on the package, only that your name and address is not.)
If your name and address weren't on that label, ask the Post Office/shipper if they will put this in writing; it's helpful, but not required. Also, ask for the weight of the package using that tracking number. Follow the rest of the steps starting with 2 below:
FOR FEDEX
You can usually find the weight and other details for FedEx here:
https://www.fedex.com/en-us/tracking.html
Then click 'View More Details' to see the package weight. Screenshot that.
Ask for a letter that states the tracking number "The tracking number you were provided by the seller is not related to you nor the package you were expecting."
2) Then, report the seller using this process
https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022
Important, select "Suspicious seller activity"
then "Other"
Explain that the seller is using fake tracking numbers
Include these phrases
Seller uploaded tracking not associated with my transaction
Tracking details were not accurate
Seller used a false tracking number
Don't write a novel, it's initially being read by a computer, that's why I want you to use those 3 specific phrases in the message.
3) Finally, contact Customer Service and inform them that the seller uploaded a "false tracking number" on your purchase. Share any documentation you gathered. Request a refund.
Use the Customer Service that is on Instagram this way:
Send a private direct message to the page. Explain you have a fake or false tracking number situation.
Let me know how this goes, I've been burned a few times myself (including on Amazon), but I have been able to get a refund following this process.
There are additional steps to take if the above isn't effective, just come back and update me.
