Seller is not responding to refund request
I made a purchase from a eBay seller. The seller informed me the item is not in stock. Seller offered a different product or refund. I opted for a refund. I messaged the seller three times over the course of three days. The seller has not responded. The is no option anywhere to ask eBay to step in for assistance despite what eBay's articles say. I cannot even report the seller. It's been a week. Still no refund. I attempted to call eBay numberious times. But only get a run around. I been buying and selling on eBay for 18 years. EBay was good about this in the past. Now there seems to be no accountability. What can or is there anything I can do?

Mentor2 years agoWhen it's past the estimated delivery date shown in your Purchase History, you have up to 30 days to use the option next to the transaction to open a case for an item not received. The seller will have 3 business days to prove delivery or refund. If he doesn't, go back to the case on day 4 and use the option to ask eBay to step in. They will force the refund.

OP2 years agoThank you for your response. However I didn't get a estimated delivery date since the item was never shipped. Therefore I couldn't open a case, even for a refund. I did eventually get a refund after messaging the seller that I would leave negative feedback if I didn't get a refund. That message did the trick. The problem that I see, there is state of "limbo" of any given purchase between the time the purchase is paid to the time the item is shipped. There is no option whatsoever to ask eBay to step in if the seller decides to "welsh". eBay in the past was very good about this. Now eBay has absolutely no customer service.

Mentor2 years agoAs noted in my first response, the estimated delivery date is in your Purchase History (it's not related to when the seller ships, and it's the same date that was shown on the listing the day you made your purchase). You don't need that date to open a case (though it will go nowhere until the date passes), and in the case is where you find the option to ask eBay to step in.
