Seller is a scammer
I won an auction for a penny and went to pay for it the next day and the seller cancelled it before I even had the opportunity to pay for it. AI said there is nothing wrong with what the seller did. That's the problem with AI. AI does NOT have ethics. AI does NOT understand greed and Immoral. The seller had an auction and he's found a loophole for when he doesn't make enough on it that he can just say that I cancelled the auction which is a 100 percent lie. I want what I won. The seller Relisted what I won again but this time no clock is ticking down. NOBODY will help me. SOS<SOS.

Mentor8 months agoHi @thel6274
The user agreement requires the seller to complete the sale, however there is no way eBay can force that to happen.
You can report the seller here:
https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022
There are two violations...one is that the seller did not complete the sale. The other one is that the seller misrepresented the reason for the cancellation.
(The problem isn't that AI doesn't have morals and ethics...your seller is the one with that problem. However, policy is what governs what happens here, and AI provided the wrong information to you unfortunately.)

OP8 months agoI did report it!! The AI reported back to me that Seller did NOTHING wrong in the report. Ebay has a duty to hold sellers accountable and they are NOT!! Yes I know the Violations. I just want Ebay to do something but they wont with this pathetic seller and u cant even get a hold of a real person at Ebay. Im sure this pathetic seller has done this in the past. I've bought many things off eBay since the 90s and NEVER had this issue before. Im thinking twice now about buying anything again. Anybody know how to Actually get a hold of a REAL person at Ebay? GOOD ADVICE WANTED ON REACHING A LIVE VOICE. I don't need a summary of what I already know.

Sorry, but there is no way for me to know what you already know...
Interesting that you received a response. I've never had a response to a seller report (only to an item listing report) as eBay will not disclose what action they take to the reporter.
I understand your frustration. I would be frustrated too. However there is nothing eBay can do to force the seller to sell to you, but if you want to spend time talking to someone who will tell you that again, you can request a callback from an agent if one is available here:

Mentor8 months agoHI @thel6274
I know you're upset, but I'm just trying to help you understand what will happen here (I can't do anything about what should happen).
If the seller misrepresented the reason for the cancellation (which he did to avoid a defect on his seller record), you can report him for that here:
https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022

I understood that the seller misrepresented the reason for the cancellation from your very first post, which is why I advised you how to report the violation six days ago on this very thread.
I wasn't questioning you - I was asking for more information about what you were experiencing so I could help. I asked you about the automated phone call you received so I could find out more about that and get back to you. To my knowledge, you're the first person to report having received one. The community team says eBay is not making automated calls - only calls from live reps. Since the eBay team said this wasn't happening, I asked for more information from you that I could pass on to them.
I'm very sorry you didn't find that I helped you in any way. I've taken a lot of my time trying to. I'm not sure what you are expecting. I would love to be able to give you answers you want to hear, but that doesn't help anyone. The mentors on this board give you answers about how eBay works (not how you would like things to work).
Good luck to you. I won't respond here further per your request.

OP8 months agoEbay automated system just called me!! They give u 3 minutes to describe the issue. So freaking strange. At least they know who the seller is now.

This was news to me, so I checked with the Community team to find out if eBay was testing this or had made a change, and they said no, you will only receive a callback from a live agent.
How did you contact eBay? Did you do it from a contact link here on the site or did you google it. If you googled it, you may not have been contacting eBay but a scammer site instead.
Thanks for any additional information you have on this callback...
