Seller in houston without power but many items to ship since last sunday
I got hit directly with the hurricane as 15+ items sold live...I haven't had power since and the items are locked in a storage needing power to access.
Power company says we can have power restored anytime between now and a couple weeks from now.
I can't get a single agent at ebay on the phone to let them know. I know I'm getting negatives from this as I won't be able to meet my shipping times like I always do.
Please help...I'm out of options...I'm a seller of 10+ years with a 100% record on feedback. But this is out of my control.

Good morning gentlemen,
I saw this thread and was wondering if eBay has a special way for Sellers hit with localized storms - tornados, etc. to contact eBay to protect their accounts while they are not able to access them?
Depending on the situation, local shipping carriers may also be out of power for extended periods of time.
I am sure this is happening in many parts of the country this year and Sellers should not be penalized for acts of nature. Anything you can do to assist this member in getting in direct contact with eBay would be greatly appreciated.

Hey @mr_lincoln most often these situations will have an announcement to inform everyone of the protections that are put into place. So I'd normally just advise people to look at the Announcements board.
@mysteriousgt There are protections already in place for those impacted by Hurricane Beryl.

My sincere thanks ... but some of the storms are more localized and not covering say an entire "region". Here in the northeast we've had a few localized heavy storms bringing down power lines plus the heat wave has stressed the power gird blowing out larger generators at distribution points. While these power outages are shorter lived they do affect Sellers in those areas ...
As an example: just yesterday our son and his wife came over to spend time a tour house (packed for a possible overnight stay) because of a local interruption of the power in their area ... Fortunately, it was only a 10 hour event but could have been a longer event.

OP2 years agoThe system has just slapped me with quite a Few late shipment penalties...and I still can't get help to resolve this issue.
I'm in North West Houston where we suffered full force of the eastern bands of the storm. Does that not qualify me to at least get help to resolve the penalties I'm getting now?

Partly on the above announcement >
"As Hurricane Beryl and its effects continue to impact Texas and the Southeast, we are extending protections as needed."

Mentor2 years ago@mysteriousgt if by some chance u don't get the advertised protections,
Contact eBay via their social media sites with a private message:
https://Facebook.com/ebay
AND-OR
https://Twitter.com/askebay
Great customer service on both
Also, even if u don't do social media, u can just open one or both accounts for eBay purposes only
In the meantime, message your customers with updates.
I hope it works out for you and that you all recover soon.
Come back if u need more advice, we here in the community definitely care and want to help.
