Seller Hub doesn't offer the options described online?
Ebay instructions for how to create a listing with variances say that I need to select "create listing" and then select "single listing" from the drop down menu. When I click "create listing" on my seller hub page, it takes me to a page that offers me the option to "start listing with item info" but there is no drop down menu, and no option for "single listing". The only other options on the page I can see are "photo upload", "file upload" and "bulk listing". Is there something I am supposed to be doing that I'm not? Or something I am supposed to have activated or pre-selected or something that changes the options on my seller hub page? I am so confused (and a little frustrated, I admit...) Thank you in advance for your help.

OP8 months agoThank you - I read the section where it explains that not all items are eligible for variations, however what doesn't make sense to me about that as it applies to my specific listing, is that there are other sellers on eBay offering this exact item with variations, so I know it must be possible.
I am selling books from the Time Life "Old West" collection. But I don't own the entire collection, so I would like to offer the individual books for sale. Rather than create 16 separate listings for each book in the set, I thought I would create one listing (as several other sellers have done) and allow buyers to choose which books they wanted to purchase. But I can't seem to figure out how to make that happen....

Try it this way - on the ‘start listing with info’ page, enter a generic of your title, let it pick a similar item for you to start with. This gets you to the single item listing page.
Once on the listing page, in the upper right corner, click the 3 dots, then click settings. Slide the radio button to the right next to variations. This turns on the option to create a variations listing.
If variations are available in the your selected category, you will see a variations section after item specifics and before condition. Click the pencil at the far right to edit the variations fields.
I just tested this way, using “test book†as my title, eBay offered eBay for dummies as a selection, I picked that 🙂

OP8 months agoThank you so much for taking the time to explain this option to me! In the end I was able to find a work around by looking up a listing for the same item on eBay, and selected "sell similar item" from that listing. I'm not sure why eBay won't allow me to create that kind of listing directly from my seller hub page, but oh well, as long as there's a way to achieve the desired end result, I guess it doesn't matter. Now I know how to do it for the future. Thanks again!

Sometimes forms get changed and the help pages don’t get updated. I also did not see the create single listing choice until I started from start with info.
Sell similar is always a good tool ðŸ˜

OP8 months agoThank you for the links, my trouble is that I have already read both of these pages in their entirety, and the instruction they provide don't help because my seller hub page doesn't look like the example provided, and doesn't have the options/menus they say I need to select.
For example, in the section where it walks you through the process of how to set up a listing with variances, the instructions say to select "create listing" and then select "single listing" from the drop down menu. But when I click "create listing" on my seller hub page there is no dropdown menu - it simply takes me to another page that offers me the option to "start a listing with info". There is no option to select "single listing". So I am at a loss for how to follow the instructions.
