Seller has put a different name on the parcel being sent to me
Hi, I have rung Australia Post and they have told me that my name (i.e the name that my ebay account is in) is NOT the name on the parcel that I have been sent the tracking number for (I double checked the tracking number with Australia Post). There is also a contact telephone number for the recipient that is not my number. The call centre could not see the address. I am hoping there is a logical explanation but am extremely concerned that I may be being scammed. Does anyone have any suggestions how to proceed? It seems that, as a buyer, I cannot contact ebay to ask about this and, having searched up some information, I am aware that if the seller has sent the parcel to someone else and the tracking number shows as "delivered", then apparently eBay will just close any complaint I raise in favour of the seller. Do I even have the chance to appeal such a decision?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light on this potential situation. P.S I've asked the seller to send me a photo of the parcel with Australia Post label attached, and the receipt from the post office.
