Seller has never sent my order!
Hello,
I bought an item and the seller has been delaying the delivery since the beginning. He also takes a long time to reply and still hasn’t shipped my order. It’s been more than a month now and he’s just stalling.
I finally requested a refund, but eBay says I’m no longer eligible because more than 30 days have passed. I also cannot reach a customer service agent, and the “Step In†option does not appear in my request. The seller has now stopped responding completely.
What should I do in this situation? I just want my money back.

OP11 months agoSo, in the end, it was my fault for believing the seller’s word that he would send it, right?
So I’ll be punished while he keeps deceiving people on the site, and eBay takes no responsibility?

Mentor11 months agoeBay provided you with a thirty day money back guarantee, and a deadline to ask eBay to step in.
You apparently chose to forego your opportunity to pursue a refund on eBay by not acting before the deadline passed.
You may still have a chance to get a refund from your payment method.
Whether the seller gets away with deceiving you is up to you.

OP11 months agoGreat support! Congratulations to you for maintaining the community of this site in this way. We are punished for negotiating a new delivery deadline and trusting a seller who has a “good reputation†on eBay. Now it’s easy to come and say that I should have guessed I was going to be deceived by the seller.

Mentor11 months agoHave you contacted your bank or credit card issuer yet to see if you can still get a refund?
You chose "trusting a seller" over getting a refund from eBay when a refund from eBay was possible, and now it's not possible to get a refund from eBay any more because you waited too long. But eBay is not the only place you can get a refund.
No one likes being told they waited too long to try to get help, or that they missed a deadline. But sometimes that is what happens, and people need to hear that, even if hearing it does not make them happy.

You have thirty days from the last estimated delivery date shown at the time of your purchase to start an "item not received" case with eBay. If the seller does not cooperate, after three business days you can ask eBay to step in and force a refund. If you do not ask eBay to step in within twenty-one business days from starting the case, eBay closes the case without a refund.
If you are past thirty days from the last estimated delivery date shown at the time of your purchase, and you have not started an "item not received" case, or if you did not ask eBay to step in within twenty-one business days, eBay can no longer help.
You may have recourse through your payment method. Many credit cards offer up to six months of protection from the date of purchase for items that are not received.
