Seller funds from payments being on hold inconsistently

I'm wondering why I can sell a pair of brand new sneakers for over $150 and my funds are in my bank account the same day they were authenticated (which only takes 1-2 days), but I can sell a gift card valued at $50 for $30 and have to wait for funds from the sale to be off hold for two weeks??? These holds don't make sense to me all, and if eBay is going to stand by these holds then do it consistently and make sure it makes sense according to the dollar amounts too

It isn't always the value that determines the hold. A pair of authenticated shoes has little change of being returned. Gift cards, however, are a high fraud item.

And BTW - electronic delivery of gift cards is not allowed. Gift cards must be physical cards and sent to the buyer.
