Both of them responded with no label but did put in an address, both of which were fake. It's important to note that Im not the only one that's complained about the exact same thing. I did ask Ebay to step in and they extended the return period for both rather than holding them responsible by stepping in and putting an end to this **bleep**.
Both sellers sold to me under a US - only search. It wasn't till they appeared suspicious that I dug in to find that they were not in the US but we're having associates ship from here to reduce ship lead times.
I don't know where to go from here as Ebay obviously got duped by these criminals as well.
@cbarden2013. It is normal, although frustrating, for eBay to put a hold for 5 to 10 days after they are asked to step in. This is to allow the seller time to send the $ to pay return shipping or issue the refund.
Just be patient for now.
You can try contacting customer service on social media and tell them that the seller has not provided a valid return label as required by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
Contact customer service by sending a PRIVATE message on social media. Customer service verifies your identity before responding.
After you give the eBay case time to complete with either a refund or denial THAT is when you file charge back with your funding source.
Do NOT file a chargeback until the case is actually decided one way or the other as chargebacks can fail. Also once you go to your funding source eBay will no longer be able to help.
Oh, I forgot to mention, another remedy in addition to filing suit (possible class-action) is to close my account, start doing business elsewhere and tell my family, friends and business associates to do the same.
Both were supposed to be US sellers and Both are out of country (Argentina/Africa)
Both sent me fake, non-silver, non-US currency when they were Both supposed to be 90% silver content dollar coins.
All have been tested as fakes and certified fraudulent as they don't represent the proper weight and they are magnetic and silver is not.
Both have provided fake mailing addresses for the returns and I have notified Ebay representitives of such.
Ebay will not admit these are frauds or issue my refunds and it's been nearly 10 days. My only remedy is to file fraud cases against Ebay and take Ebay to court.
@cbarden2013. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, I had appointments.
Did you file not as described return request cases within 30 days of the date delivery ? Reason doesn't match description or photos.
Then on the 4th business day after opening the refund request ask eBay to step in and help. Since the sellers are in another country they can't an eBay return shipping label. They have to send the money to your PayPal account.
Let me know what step you are on so I can advise you further.
Edit to add... I am marking this as BA so you see and know what post to reply to. It doesn't mean anything, it's just a flag.
FIRST steps is I need to know what exactly you have done. I am only getting bits and pieces of the story. I can refer to you CS but they sometimes get the steps wrong.
Did the provide fake mailing addresses in a message OR from an official eBay return request case? It is VERY important to file the eBay return case for EACH seller and then ask eBay to step in on the 4th business day. Have you done those steps?
IF the seller said they were shipping from the US on the listing then they can NOT require you to return the coins to another country.
The seller can NOT provide a return shipping label if they are located in the US and have to send YOU the money to pay return shipping using an electronic payment method ( it doesn't have to be PayPal) Then you buy the shipping label with the sellers money and enter the tracking number into the case.
99% of the time once you ask eBay to step in and help from the case the international sellers automatically refund you OR eBay forces a refund if they don't

OP8 months agoI do appreciate your trying to help but feel it may be time to get my attorney involved.

Mentor8 months ago@cbarden2013. An attorney is not the way to go. EBay user agreement only allows arbitration and attorneys are expensive.

OP8 months agoI did answer your questions.
Am I missing something.
Maybe I should just give you my login so you can see what's happening.?
I'd be open to that.

More importantly have you received refunds if the item is not as described or is late arriving?
Let us know and we can provide guidance.

Mentor8 months ago@cbarden2013. Were the items not as described or not received?
Did you file refund request cases. If yes what kind?
What was the date of purchase?
Date of delivery?
cbarden2013
OP8 months agoBoth dates of purchase were 1/20.
Both delivered on 1/23.

OP8 months agoAre you saying that because I don't have a PayPal account, Im out of luck for reimbursement for this scam?
I thought Ebay stood behind their merchants and this kind of thing.
I did do everything I could to catch this early but I'm guessing I have to retain an attorney now. This really sucks and Im done with Ebay.
