Seller Fees When No Inventory
I (intentionally) may soon have zero items to list for sale but not ready to close my eBay account (I don't have a store, just the basic sellers account). If I get down to zero items, I do not want to pay the monthly seller fee but unsure how to proceed. I assume eBay will still charge a monthly fee as long as my seller ID is active. Can I temporarily close my account & easily re-open it? Or would I have to start a new account if I close & want to re-open. Thanks for any help/thoughts.

ONLY Stores are charged monthly fees. There is no cost to have an open eBay account.
Once you’ve opened a selling account … it stays a selling account after you’ve stopped selling … but there’s no charge to use it just for buying OR for collecting virtual dust. 😊

OP2 years agoThanks so much. Thought I was being charged $4.95 a month but will double check on that.
Thanks again!

You’re very welcome. 😊
The other responder said that you DO have a Store, which would mean that you ARE being charged a monthly fee. [I cannot check it from my iPhone.]
If you do have a Store … then simply close it. You don’t need a Store to sell on eBay.

OP2 years agoJust checked and turns out I do have a store subscription; so I will close that. Thanks again for your help!

·2 years agoYou DO have a store - not sure why you said you didn’t in your post - so if you’re paying yearly you would have to close your store.
I recently thought I was going to have to step back from selling for as much as 6 months. I ended all my listings and canceled my store subscription. My eBay account will remain open, and when I’m ready I may start a small number of listings without reactivating my store.

OP2 years agoThanks. I was mistaken. I thought the $4.95 was just a basic non-store fee but you're right, I do have a "store".
Think I'm going to close it too. Thanks again!
